There are vast numbers of people who believe in the triumvirate of Christianity – God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. They also believe that the Bible is the “word” of God. Furthermore, within this group, there are many who attend a “Christian” denomination. Despite all of this, few, among all of these, read the Bible with the genuine aim of learning what God, they claim to believe in, wants them to know. It is for this reason that so many follow, according to the scriptures, teachings (doctrines) of devils.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing (deceiving/misleading) spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared (made dead) with a hot iron; (1Timothy 4:1-2)
Just a rudimentary search of the Bible by anyone seeking to determine the accuracy of today’s “Christian” teachings would expose the falsehoods that are taught and espoused as the truth. It is paradoxical and deliberately hypocritical to call oneself a “Christian” or a teacher of biblical truth while disobeying the instructions of the scriptures.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (Acts 17:11)
It is no secret that Roman Catholicism venerates Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ according to the flesh, as a virgin. However, the New Testament in several scriptures records that after giving birth to Christ Mary had other children.
Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? (Matthew 13:55-56)
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. (Mark 6:3)
The fact that Jesus had brothers and sisters, after the flesh, is clearly documented in the Bible. Yet, Roman Catholics reject this, and they defiantly worship and proclaim her as the “blessed virgin”.
Roman Catholics also pray to Mary as well as numerous dead “saints”.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6)
Nowhere in the Bible is there any instruction, implied or otherwise, where believers in Christ are told to pray to Mary or to anyone else, except to God the Father.
Among the other things the Roman Catholic Church teaches its laity (congregation) is to use the “title” father when addressing their priests.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. (Matthew 23:9)
Roman Catholicism has supplanted the One and only true God by conferring upon their prelates the honour of being called “father”.
If God is truly God, how is it those who consider themselves to be His children reject His commandments?
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. (Mark 7:7-9)
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (Luke 6:46)
Why indeed?
