Welcome.
There are many followers of Christ who are like me – existing in the spiritual wilderness away from “mainstream” Christianity.
I became tired of the hypocrisies which plagued my experience as a believer, so I withdrew. However, I know this is not the way things should be.
I want to be able to fellowship with people who are truly born again. I don’t want a religious experience. And I know this is what other sheep in Christ, who are in their own spiritual wilderness, desire as well.
We want to talk with people who are passionate about following Jesus Christ and fulfilling the will of the Lord in their lives.
I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Therefore, I have started this site with the hope of providing an oasis of shelter, primarily, but not exclusively, for people like me.
I don’t consider myself to be more knowledgeable about the Bible than most students of the scriptures.
However, I do believe passionately in the gift of salvation I have received from the Lord Jesus Christ.
I don’t go around babbling in unintelligible tongues, handing out religious tracks, or asking practically everyone I meet if they know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
I do, however, read the Bible, pray, believe in the redemptive work of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ, the gift of the Holy Spirit, baptism by immersion in water and in the coming of the Kingdom of God.
There are a lot of other things I believe based upon the revelation of the Lord and the work of the Holy Ghost through reading the scriptures. As a result of this, it has been difficult for me to fellowship with many of those who call themselves Christians and to sit under the tutelage of Christian leaders who reject basic doctrine.
There are simple things we are asked to follow and accept as a testimony of our faith in Christ, and I have found this lacking, in some form or the other, in all the places I have gone in search of a spiritual home.
Today, more than ever, there is a drastic departure from the teachings of Christ.
Our Lord, through the scriptures, has foretold of this:
If you identify the symptoms on good sildenafil samples time and seek proper help to avoid any further complications. 2 Timothy 4:2-4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Again, I hear more and more so-called Christian ministers equating financial success with spiritual well-being. However, this is not what my Lord teaches us.
1 Timothy 6:5, 6 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Apart from this, there are others who are solely focused upon spiritual gifts in the absence of godly character and holiness.
Also, there are religious leaders who are obsessed with the denominational tenets and precepts of their organization, even if it contradicts the scriptures.
My disenchantment does not solely come just from these violations of the truth. Yet, there is a clear warning given to those who seek to follow Christ when they encounter those who teach the prosperity gospel.
1 Timothy 6:5 … from such withdraw thyself.
For many years I struggled with my conscience regarding my on again and off again attendance at some “church”, because I wanted to be obedient to this commandment:
Hebrew 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
However, I could not accept being among people who were not following the teachings of Christ, as recorded in the scriptures.
My deliverance from this gnawing desire to fellowship with other believers, and the heaviness of heart which would weigh upon my spirit when among them, came when the Lord finally said this to me:
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Yes, they were saying Jesus and carrying the same bible, but their heart was far from desiring the way of our Lord. So, I eventually withdrew completely.
After so many years in the wilderness, I want to know the joy of having fellowship with people of “genuine” faith and like mind, because I know I am not the only one out here.
I will keep making these posts in the hope that the Lord will lead others with the same conviction to this site, so we can have sweet fellowship together.
Psalms 55:14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.
I welcome you again, and I hope you can find comfort, restoration and fellowship among the site’s visitors.
